E-Go Max is an excellent folding electric bike with the same pedigree as it's two predecessors (Lite & Lite+) but with a huge 150kg payload and a larger 14Ah Samsung Lithium Ion battery that gives it a great range of up to 90km (depending on conditions) meaning you'll never have to worry about the battery level when out on a ride.
As with all E-Go e-bikes the unique design incorporates the batteries inside the seat post therefore at first glance it doesn't even look like a folding electric bike! This can be easily removed for charging inside your home/work or in situ.
With the same riding modes and colours as the Lite models, this bike eats up the miles, especially with the 7 speed Shimano Gears at your fingertips. Foldable in the same 4 steps as the rest of the range enabling you to store this big bike in minimal space.
Folded size 83cm x 46cm x 70cm
Disc brakes at the front and rear result in this bike quickly and safely stopping when the need arises. The 20" wheels use 2.35 tyre. Seat post and handle bar stem are adjustable for a broad range of riders.
Larger 14Ah Capacity
Foldable in 4 steps

Delivery and Returns
The bike arrived promptly and was in good condition. As other reviewers have commented, putting on the mudguards and the rack without any documentation was a considerable challenge, but after looking at some pictures on the web and figuring out which length of screw to use where, I got there. Using the bike is straightforward; although the documentation on the electrical assistance is woefully inadequate, I figured it out by trial and error. There was no documentation regarding tyre pressure, so again, after consulting the internet, I settled on 85psi, which seems to work well.
In multi-hour use including a variety of hills, I have been impressed with its performance and felt that it gave me five times the speed for about twice the effort of walking; pretty much exactly what I was hoping. I haven't yet pushed the limits of the range, but would be comfortable with 30-40 miles / three hours, and it would posibly do a lot better. A limitation is the top non-downhill speed of about 15-20mph imposed by the gearing, which may be the result of some legal issue or other. Disc brakes seem to work well.
It's very solidly constructed, albeit heavy, and the fold/unfold system is sturdy and well thought out; I would treat it as a big holiday suitcase in terms of weight and portability. I have taped over the truly awful flourescent green marketing decals (E-Go Max - Life Without Limits) with black gorilla tape, and now feel comfortable with the look of the bike overall. For security I've settled on a motorbike heavy duty steel/plastic cable, a robust D-lock and a bag to hide it in; also I may choose in future to leave it in a hotel or other business rather than on public view.
It's a good thing.
This e go lite bike is soooo sweet. Fast, versitile durable and a well built bike. 7ah battery makes a big difference. Get the big bum seat though. Makes a big difference in the comfort. Good all round bike.
Very well made and sturdy Bike. Once charged, good range before requiring another charge.
Delivery was very quick.
On the downside, no instructions supplied, took a fair while to assemble the various parts. Would not take much to include this in the package box.
Can't fault the delivery. Ordered one day and arrived the next. The only negative comment would be the instructions manual, next to useless. How do you mend pucture in drive wheel?
Excellent product. I am very happy with my purchase. Only issue I had was the assembly of the mud guards and light which could be resolved with some documentation with the delivery. The bike is very easy to use and with the wider wheels the grip and brakes are excellent.
