Have any questions?

This brilliantly designed folding electric bike makes light work of those cramped public transport commutes or family rides out in the country side! Westhill's compact 'Link' is extremely well equipped in its league, adopting a very similar components list as you'd see throughout the rest of their range. The ingeniously integrated battery is hidden within the frame tube, giving it a very sleek design, powering a 250W rear hub driven motor, putting 45NM torque to the back wheel allowing riders to reduce that burn and have a very enjoyable ride. User settings and power assistance can be monitored and altered using the Link's waterproof, handlebar mounted LCD screen. Packing Tektro disc brakes, Kendals tyres and Shimano Atlus 7 speed gears to accompany all of this technology you'll be confident in hitting the roads. It's definitely true in what they say..."The best things come is small packages".

Good value for money.

I bought this bike in 2020 for local work trips since it is very hilly around here. The bike performs well even on steep hills. For longer rides I bought a spare battery.

I have made minor adjustments - rotating the handlebars to make them lower, changing the saddle and adding a flap to the front mudguard to protect the bottom bracket and my feet. I ride with the seat tube fully extended and it is a bit too flexible in this position - it would benefit from having a longer seat tube.

Serious bike, so much fun

Overall, I’m exceptionally pleased with my purchase. I’m an avid cyclist, have three other bikes, and enjoy long rides throughout the year. My decision to add electric assistance to my portfolio of bikes was to future proof my cycling capability based on my age; I’ve noticed I get tired sooner on longer rides. I wanted assistance on a range of 40 miles or more (I thought that using the bike’s power for hills and head wind would make me less tired and able to go further), I wanted a hidden battery(so it looked like a normal bike), I wanted a folding bike for easy transportability and I wanted a UK manufactured bike with a preferred dealer close by. There were a few other considerations, 20” wide tyres, easy removable battery, mud guards, pannier rack and kick stand and a specific budget; it was also an attempt to entice my wife to come out with me cycling as she could use the bike while I used one of my other bikes. The Westlink Link offered all that I was looking for. I had no experience of using an electric bike and didn’t try one before my purchase, so I took a chance. Wow, I’m so pleased with my purchase. At the time of writing this review I’ve had the bike three weeks. I’ve tested the battery with a 40+ mile ride, using power level 3 (of 5) for most of the journey pushing to levels 4 and 5 on straighter boring bits, and I still had 1 bar left when I arrived home; I hardly put any effort into pedalling the whole journey. The whole riding experience was great fun.

So, what didn’t I appreciate before I bought the bike? It would have been good to have some specific instructions on how to put the bike together out of the box, but I managed it OK. The folding takes a bit of getting used to, watching the online video and practising will help, it’s just awkward the first couple of times, and while described as being lightweight the 21kg is a handful when lifting the bike into my car boot. The rear wheel is a pretty complicated set-up. To repair a puncture or fit a new tyre is going to need help from the local dealer; not sure I’d want to mess with the motor wheel myself! As for the handlebar computer, it controls everything; it’s fantastic. It does far more than is explained on the website. Including, choosing your own preferred number of power levels and assigning what percentage of power you want to give each level.

Why did I choose Eco Bike Company for my purchase? Simple, they offered a £40 discount. The only hitch in the process was the lack of communication surrounding delivery. There was nothing from Westhill, Eco Bike Company or even the delivery firm DPD.

Knowing what I know now after having the bike for three weeks … would I buy the bike again … the answer is definitely YES … a 5 star piece of kit.

Getting the bike off my wife

Having recently received this bike I’m more than impressed with quality of build, weight, ease of ride and ease of folding. It looks good and can be stored away in bag I bought.
Only problem is my wife likes it as much and forgets I follow on my conventional road bike, and is having a coffee when I arrive.
Brilliant bike and worth the money!

So glad to hear Sally has this. Purchased mine a few months ago and absolutely love it as do the people I pass on the roads!! It’s great, slick, fast especially as I live on a hill. If you want a great bike that does the work for you, this is it. Love it. I have a Brompton and never thought it could be beaten but the Link Westhill is up there with the best ❤️
