Ampere Tourer-S Hybrid Step Through Electric Bike

Buying a bike online is great when things go right but what is it like when things go wrong. Like a duff battery. I am glad to say EcoBike bikes came through the test really well.
They must have been fed up with my emails as we were trying to solve the problem but there customer service stayed helpful.
A big plus for Ampere who made the bike too in sending another battery so quickly.
I have only give EcoBike four stars for now but am confident they will get the fifth when I review them and the bike in a few months time.

I've heard great things about this bike but haven't had a chance to try it yet. The assembly is much more difficult than I had been led to believe (it's my first time building a bike, but I did let them know that), and it's been really hard to get any support from EcoBike to help me.

I'm 5' 2" and had a hard time finding an e-bike with suspension that would suit my short stature. The staff at Eco Bike were so helpful and communicative, eventhough all communication was virtual. They have written their own blog content to help you make decisions about you bike which were really helpful. The bike itself has been great for commuting. It holds a charge for a very long time and is very responsive and easy to use. I had some issues with delivery of accessories, however, the Eco Bike team chased everything up same day. Their commitment to customer service is truly commendable and made buying my first bike ever so easy.

I haven’t ridden a bike for well over thirty years but sold my car in 2020 to reduce my carbon footprint and bought an electric trike. It’s great for shopping but it only has three speed gears and is too heavy and cumbersome for general riding. I wanted a bike that would allow me to get out and just ride and I am very happy with the Ampere Tourer-S Hybrid. It isn’t actually quite a stepover, unlike my trike. I am 71 and I have to lay the bike over to mount, and I am still getting used to being back in the saddle, but I ride early every morning for about 45 minutes and it is great. I added a throttle, but I haven’t needed to use it. The gearing is good and I mostly ride with motor assistance at level 1. I ride along the loop lines in Salford and there are some quite steep climbs which the motor assistance really helps with. The saddle is quite comfortable and I am loving riding it. Looking forward to exploring all the opportunities my new bike is offering me.

I was going back and forth about bikes for over a year and the eco bike team were helpful and patient all along the way. The bike has a good amount of battery so far (I got the 16Ah), the power is also good and I can carry it up and down the stairs as I need to. It’s not easy, but compared to the heavier e-bikes I’ve tried, it’s doable! Thanks Eco Bikes!

Having never even tried an ebike before so I did a lot of research online, finally coming down to a few options. I chose Ampere because it had good reviews, had what seem to be the right names for battery, suspension etc. I had a budget I didn’t want to exceed and unfortunately the dealers local to me all stocked much too expensive bikes. The Ecobike Co had good feedback too, and were really helpful on live chat, so I took the plunge and ordered the bike they recommended out of the 2 I had narrowed it down to (both Ampere). Once I had sent the cycle to work certificate, the bike arrived in 2 days! It wasn’t too hard to put it together with my partner (about 1 hour) and we are both novice bike builders, although my partner knew about about repairing punctures ie taking off wheels. From the first ride I have loved this bike, it’s comfortable and copes with the hilly lanes we have. After 2 weeks of 30-60min rides, the battery level went down to half so that’s the first time I had to charge it (and that was me being cautious about being stuck without it on a hilly ride!). I chose the biggest battery as they last longer before needing to be replaced (more Ecobike Co advice). I’m 5’4 So went for the larger wheels. I didn’t upgrade the display in the end as the normal one has all I need. Overall I am delighted and couldn’t recommend the bike or Ecobike Co more highly.

At 5'2" I was looking for a Hybrid e-bike that was not too big. not too heavy and that didn't come with a massive price tag. I came across Eco-bike and the Ampere, which I had never heard of before. I had recently used a Raleigh Motus, which I liked, but was looking for something cheaper. Eco-bike were very helpful and responsive, with good reviews and eventually I bought the bike. A month on I am very happy with the bike. The battery seems to last well, the power is great, gears work well. The throttle is probably an unnecessary addition as the bike has plenty of power already. To fit it would require removing the handlebar grips, which isn't easy, but also there is little space on the bars. Would have liked to fit the bell but handlebars are too thick (and not much space). These are minor mentions. The integral front light is good. Assembly was straightforward. All in all it seems like a great bike that makes hills a doddle.

I bought this bike for my wife and she absolutely loves it. With help from Jarred and Sasha the whole sales process went very well. I am so happy with their help and service I am going to buy myself an Ampere but with a crossbar. The only downside of this is Tuffnells delivery service simply put its rubbish. Ecobike pay for a 24hr delivery but it takes much longer and tracking is awful. Ecobikes are brilliant though.

Brilliant customer service here's an online company that goes the extra mile. I dealt with both Jarred and Sasha and they handled any queries promptly and efficiently. We now have two Ampere touring bikes with the 16 AH batteries and covered 30 miles and still registered 50% capacity so well satisfied. The best, being able to cycle with my children again.
