Dutch Style Step Through with hidden battery
The Perdu is a stunning step-through Dutch style electric bike. The blue, magma pearl colouring just oozes style and quality. Hand built in Europe, the quality of this electric bike shines through.
Perdu means “hidden” and that is exactly what you get from this stylish bike. The 9.2Ah battery is located in the chain casing, nestling between the upper and lower part of the chain. This position brings the centre of gravity of the bike right down.
Carefully chosen components add to the superb quality of this bike. Suspension forks, Shimano Nexus 7 speed hub gears and Nexus Revo Shift twist grip gear changer, Tektro brakes and levers and Schwalbe Road Cruiser K-Guard tyres are some of the key features. The Axa wheel lock augments the standard Batribike security package.
Silver mudguards and chain guard and uniquely designed wheel motif on top of the downtube complement the metallic blue of the frame. The colouring and style of the Perdu just makes you want to ride for miles.

I have been using my new bike for just over 2 weeks and so far it is a delight to ride.
The battery could last a bit longer but 1 charge is more than enough for my daily commute to work. I don't use the assist much on the way out but use level 1 or 2 on the way back and full assist on a couple of short but vicious up hill roads (40sec ride each).
The battery is easy to remove and put back and even easier to charge. It takes 2 to 3 hours to recharge if not completely depleted.
The seat is comfy, the tyres are of a good quality and the rear bag carrier is so useful.
I will be switching my tyres and inner tubes next month and either go for tubeless tyres or for the slightly thicker marathon ones as if you get a flat with an electric bike it is hell, especially on the back wheel. We changed my partner's tyres last week and it is definitely not something you can do in the middle of your commute or under the rain.
I keep the bike indoor so I have to carry it 2 floors up and that's when you realise how heavy it is. I used to carry a normal bike up to the 4th floor without problems, with this one I was completely out of breath the first time I did it and I still find it very hard.
I would recommend it, and indeed I have, to anyone who hasn't cycled in a while and to those who would use it to commute to work because with the assist you sweat much less and could even ride in your working clothes.
2 weeks is a short time but I hope to be as happy with it in a year time
